Alfa Romeo SZ
This striking Alfa Romeo SZ (the “SZ” stands for “Sprint Zagato”) was photographed as part of a fun project for my friends at Millrace Motor Club. Although it was designed in-house, the SZ was built by the world-renowned Italian coachbuilder, Zagato. It features a 3.0-liter version of the famous “Busso” V6, along with a 5-speed manual transmission. For suspension and braking components, Alfa Romeo relied heavily on their Group A/IMSA race cars of the time, with Koni developing a set of hydraulically adjustable dampers. Although it was a quick car at the time, the performance figures feel superfluous compared to the radical design, which still looks striking today!
